The Part Before Everything Else

Senka makes face cleansers for the first and last minutes of your skincare routine. The name comes from the Japanese word for face washing, because that’s the whole job: get you from a day of sunscreen, makeup, and city air to clean skin without a stripped, tight feeling afterward. Perfect Whip and All Clear Oil are the two products we’ve built around that idea. One lathers into a dense foam, the other melts away what water alone won’t touch.

We started with the step most routines treat as an afterthought. Cleansing is the one thing your skin gets every single day, so it’s the one thing that shouldn’t be harsh, fussy, or a gamble. That meant caring about the details you only notice in the bathroom at night. We wanted a foam that’s thick and soft after a couple of pumps, not one that needs a minute of squeezing and still comes out thin. We wanted an oil that rinses off clean, with no greasy film left behind. Anything that didn’t do that got reworked.

We’re making this for people who’d rather have two cleansers that work than a shelf of steps they skip by week two. If you wear sunscreen or makeup, you know the oil-then-foam routine. If you don’t, a good foam on its own is still the most useful thing in your bathroom. Either way, we just want washing your face to be the easy part.

Clean Slate, Every Night

Dmitri L.

Senka All Clear Oil

“I wear waterproof sunscreen daily and the oil breaks it down in about thirty seconds of massaging. No greasy film left when I rinse, which I didn’t expect from an oil.”

Hana K.

Senka Perfect Whip

“The foam comes out thick enough to hold its shape on my palm, so I’m not rubbing a watery lather around my face. Rinses off clean and my skin doesn’t feel tight afterward.”

Tom W.

Senka All Clear Oil

“My girlfriend left the oil in my bathroom and I started using it for sunscreen and sweat after the gym. My nose looks clearer, and it takes about ten seconds.”

Quick Answers for Smoother Routines

Can the oil and the foam be used together in one routine?

Yes, they are often paired as two steps in the evening. The oil goes on first to break down makeup and sunscreen, and the foam follows to rinse away any leftover residue. In the morning, the foam alone is usually enough.

How should the oil be applied for the best results?

It works best on dry skin with dry hands. A gentle massage for 30 to 60 seconds loosens makeup, and a splash of water turns the oil milky so it rinses off easily. Wet hands at the start make it less effective at dissolving makeup.

Is it suitable for sensitive or oily skin?

Both are made to rinse off without a heavy or sticky film, which suits many skin types, including oily and combination. Anyone with known allergies or reactive skin should patch test on a small area first, since individual reactions vary.

How much foam is needed, and does it require lathering first?

One or two pumps are usually enough. The foam comes out already whipped, so no lathering in the hands is needed. It can be pressed onto damp skin, massaged lightly, and rinsed with lukewarm water, since very hot water can leave skin feeling tight.

Does it remove waterproof makeup and sunscreen?

Oil formulas generally dissolve waterproof mascara, long-wear foundation, and water-resistant sunscreen. Stubborn eye makeup may need a few extra seconds of soft pressure, but rubbing hard around the eyes should be avoided.

How should it be stored, and how long does it last once opened?

A cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight is best. Keep water out of the oil bottle and close the pump or cap firmly after each use. The period-after-opening symbol on the packaging is the most reliable guide for how long it stays good, and 12 months is a common window.
